“Se volete continuate pure a fare la vostra musica di merda in questo cesso di posto. Oppure, semplicemente, date retta a me”. Così Noel Gallagher nel 1991 esordiva aprendo una porta. Con chi ce l’aveva? Con un gruppo approssimativo, e in particolare con il fratello Liam. Da quel giorno, quel gruppo approssimativo diventarono gli Oasis.

I fratelli Gallagher sono di Manchester e appartengono a quella categoria di giovani cresciuti in fretta. Due caratteri difficili, la strada come unica maestra e la passione per la musica e per il Man City. Le loro prime esibizioni fuori città furono costellate da risse e problemi di ogni tipo. Ma anche dal primo contratto internazionale che lanciò gli Oasis nel mondo.

Veri pionieri del genere brit-pop, gli Oasis nel 1994 erano già finiti. Fu infatti, prima di una lunga serie, la volta in cui Noel abbandonò un concerto e se ne andò. Poi fu la volta di Liam. E così via, in una successione matematica. I fratelli Gallagher non si sopportano, non si sono mai sopportati, e probabilmente mai si sopporteranno. Ma c’era la musica, e tutto passava in secondo piano.

Questi snob col taglio alla Beatles occhiali lennoniani e sciarpetta anche ad agosto hanno venduto la bellezza di 70 milioni di dischi. E una cosa è sempre stata particolare negli Oasis. La voce, e il tono che la canzone acquisiva a seconda di quale Gallagher la cantava.

Noel era il paroliere e leader, eppure ha regalato anche perle vocali come Sunday Morning Call e Where did it all go Wrong?. E il suo nuovo progetto post-Oasis conferma quanto fatto vedere in precedenza. Con, in più, una disambiguazione definitiva su chi dei due fosse il vero genio all’interno del gruppo.

Il (non)progetto di Liam finiti gli Oasis è, invece, appunto, un non progetto. Semplicemente lui e gli altri ex componenti ora si fanno chiamare Beady Eye. Un po’ poco.

Talvolta, però, come è noto, l’insieme è più della somma delle parti. E allora i Gallagher torneranno insieme, prima o poi. Probabilmente, solo quando le reunion saranno passate di moda. E ricominceranno a litigare. Ma insieme. E Don’t Look Back in Anger.
